| Introduction | I am an Aussie citizen who purchased a Queensland property months before QLD Labor's 2017 Budget announcement. Whilst overseas I was slammed with the retrospective Land tax & Absentee Surcharge - driving my rental income stream down and forcing me into financial stress. Me and others have become a prisoner of the State of Queensland - we must stay in Australia for a minimum 6 months of a year or face the penalty. I now advocate for change to this extremely punishing double tax that Labor pushed through. |
