| Introduction | Welcome to my class! As we begin the year. I would like to tell you a bit about me. I have been teaching at Tuckahoe for the past 16 years. I began as a kindergarten teacher and then moved to 3rd grade nine years ago. I am certified as both a general education and special education teacher. I received my Undergraduate degree in Special Education from Hope College, and my Master's degree in Teaching from George Mason University. I worked on Capitol Hill for seven years before our children were born. My husband Dave and I moved to Arlington in 1987. Our daughters Laura and Sarah both attended Tuckahoe and graduated from Washington Lee High School. Laura graduated from Kenyon College in 2010, and is currently working on her Master's degree in Special Education. Sarah is a senior at Dension University where she is also a tri-captain of the Women's Swim Team. Dave is in the Commercial Real Estate business, and is also a private pilot. As a family we enjoy going to Cape Cod, Massachusetts in the summer, and playing with our cats Bob and Minnie. We still live in the neighborhood and have been active members in the Tuckahoe and Overlee communities for many years. |
