| Introduction | Born and raised on the beautiful Mobile, Alabama delta, Debbie 'The Delta Diva' Bivens began her singing career as the ‘first call’ vocalist for regional musicians. After signing with the Lou Corporation label, she relocated to their Cleveland, Ohio headquarters, making her pro singing debut at the Mayflower Gold Ballroom with Lou Ragland ( Ink Spots) & Hot Chocolate. Bivens has done recording work for the late great Donny Hathaway, Charlie Foxx and Leroy Hudson, and numerous pro auditions including Motown Records. Bivens cites Sarah "Sassy" Vaughan, Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Gladys Knight, among others, as her greatest Musical influences. Debbie has been awarded an Artist Residency at Centrum of Port Townsend in Washington state while living & working her professional career as an HR Manager in Seattle. Semi-retired now, she has made her home the Austin, TX Metro area. She’s singing her Traditional Straight-Ahead JaZZ, R&B, Soul and Gospel music in the way that only "The Delta Diva " can.
