Introduction Solitary, deaf, diabetic, eccentric (or so I am told). I live in an old farmhouse with Booger, my cat, and Jack, my Jack Russell. The house is full of books and I write a book review/human interest column for a weekly newspaper. I also write plays: "The Uktena" - a Cherokee mime play. "The Raindrop Waltz" - autobiographical "Land's End" - 3 dramatic monologues, including "Nance Dude." "Birdell" one-woman show. "Prince of Dark Corners" - this one made it to PBS I am currently working on "Mother Jones" and "Signs and Wonders."
Interests movies, reading, storytelling, folklore, Appalachian culture, Arthurian legends, etc. Right now, I am doing research on a utopian commune that existed in Henderson County, N. C. and was composed of freedmen (ex-slaves)from 1964-1900. It was called the "Kingdom of the Happy Land" and it was ruled by a king and queen.
