| Introduction | With in the last year I have rediscovered the art of hand sewing and embroidery for babies/infants. I always knew that this beautiful art was going to be a wonderful new interest in my life. I have always sewn...since I was about 10. My sister and I were taught the art of sewing and embroidery by our wonderfully talented mom. She made sure we also learned other thread arts like crochet and hand embroidery. I always showed an interest in learning fine hand embroidery and and thread crochet. Most of the thread crocheted projects I made I taught myself however, my mom's lessons were a great foundtation. I remember the comments like how can you work on that.... it's too intricate or that's too much work. However or whatever was said it discouraged me. Well, here I am now really wanting to dive in. I was fortunate this May to attend a Wendy Schoen Baby School with Gloria Rivera. It was PHENOMINAL. I however, felt quite a bit out of my league. After attending this great school I am more determined than ever to learn. I don't believe I'll ever catch up with all the talented ladies in my class but I would love to be right behind them! |
