Introduction	Over nine years (2001 - 2010) I had served on several regional, state and local committees, boards, etc. concerning renewable energy and related policy development. Our family continues to own farmland in the Dakotas and believe that the renewable energy potential of the Dakotas presents an opportunity second to none for serious economic development, especially in rural areas. Realizing this opportunity will test our agility and entrepreneurial mettle. Now is the time to take risk and to ensure that the power of the past does not strangle our future.
