| Introduction | About Me I am a Christian pastor who has always had a passion for music. I have been blessed with the ability to play the piano, and the trumpet, and have been active in singing all my life. Music has been a way for me to be "in tune" with God, others, the environment and with myself. Now in recent years, I have been composing music, setting others' texts to music, composing my own texts and and doing choral arrangements that are challenging for Church choirs. Several of my tunes have been set to texts by people like Mary Louise Bringle and Andrew Pratt that have been published. I was trained at Hope College (Holland, MI, USA), English and Philosophy major, learned organ with Roger Rietberg, took early piano training with Johanna Boersma and music theory with Anthony Kooiker; am a friend of Dick Bolks (16 Singing Men). I was ordained as a Reformed Church in America and served 13 years in the Presbyterian Church (USA); am presently retired in Holland, MI, USA I am also passionate about security for Israel and sovereingty for Palestinians, as my blog, will attest. |
