| Introduction | In 1999 my idyllic life changed when my husband was arrested for using the internet to communicate with a 14 year old boy about sex. He was arrested by the FBI when he crossed state lines to meet the boy to have sex. What should have been a private matter was public--- newspaper, television. In our small community word traveled fast. Looking back his arrest turned out to be the best thing for me and our two children. At the time I was lost and didn't know how to survive. The support of friends and my attorney propped me up so that I took charge of my life again. I am dedicated to not letting the events define me, however, everything that happens in our lives makes us who we are. It's how we choose to face these adversities. I chose to be brave instead of bitter, I learned and grew and now try to help others with what I learned. |
