| Introduction | Raised and educated in a blue-collar family in Iowa. BA degree from midwestern liberal arts college majoring in history and business. Post graduate work at U. of Utah in secondary education and political science. Worked for US Forest Service as seasonal employee for 9 seasons mostly in Idaho. Taught school and coached for 14 years at secondary level in Iowa and Utah. Owned and operated a water conditioning business in Ks for 20 years. Worked for 4 years as a SW Regional Salesmanager for a large water conditioning manufacturer and finished in direct sales of water conditioning equipment for dealership I once owned. Presently retired. Married for 45 years to an intelligent, beautiful woman who is also a great cook. We have 3 married, varied, bright, solid, independent children. They have blessed us with 5 delightful grand children. I keep busy with family and several voluntary community projects doing my best to stay in shape playing tennis, gardening, endless "honey do" projects, with a little hiking, fishing, and hunting. I'm a registered Democrat and a self described moderate leaning to the liberal side living in what feels like the reddest state in the nation. Life is good! |
