IntroductionBy Grace, I'm a follower of Christ. By day, I'm a recently retired school administrator; by night (and always), I'm a husband and father (and now a grandfather); and by week's end, I sometimes find myself writing or reading in this space. Feel free to join in the dialogue.
InterestsFamily. Writing drafts of original verse, stories, and essays here as time allows. All content on this blog is copyrighted and my not be copied or transmitted without author's permission. I also like camping, biking, antiques, waterfront activities, etc.
Favorite moviesTo Kill a Mockingbird. Avalon. Spencer's Mountain.(3 Gary Cooper Classics: High Noon. The Friendly Persuasion & Sergeant York),Films that reflect the consequences of character (e.g. The Elephant Man. Emma. Pride and Prejudice. The Emperor's Club and lots of others.
Favorite musicA broad variety, from classical to the classic vocals of the crooners and Swing Era (and recent artists reviving that style). The soundtrack of my life would include Nat King Cole), The Carpenters, The Lettermen, Simon and Garfunkel, and selected Beatles hits, all interwoven in a fabric of time-tested hymns and meaningful choruses whose stanzas I will never forget.
Favorite booksThis will show itself as you read here... too many to list.

When your science teacher smashed a frozen rose with a hammer, did you warm the petals to bring them back to life?

He didn't do that but I did write about one of them here: http://patternsofink.blogspot.com/2006/05/remembering-mr-bowers.html
