Introduction	As director of the Congregations, Community Outreach and Leadership Development Project and staff associate with Evangelicals for Social Action, Heidi Rolland Unruh has researched and written extensively about church-based community development. She is a trainer and consultant for faith-based community outreach, and is working collaboratively to develop a variety of practical ministry resources for churches. In addition to Hope for Children in Poverty, her works include the co-authored books Churches That Make a Difference: Reaching Your Community with Good News and Good Works; Saving Souls, Serving Society. Heidi lives in Hutchinson, KS with her husband Jim (a Mennonite pastor) and three children.
