Occupation Landscape Designer

Introduction I retired from the Army after 20 years of service. Now I can garden and talk about it. I am an award winning landscape designer having been awarded the Merit Award from the Perennial Plant Association in the under $5000 category in 2013. I am happily married and have a large family. I love to write and love sharing anything gardening. I also like the old and novel. Hubby (Mr. Fix-it) is a car collector. We strive to co-exist peacefully in the garden. I share my garden with several animals. My favorite was BJ. He is pictured on my profile as he was my constant companion in the garden for 10 years. Meeting other gardeners and getting their perspectives on gardening is a goal. I am originally from Maine but lived in Europe for 10 years and have visited a lot of places and gardens in the world. Plants are the same all across the world. That being said, each garden is an individual expression of the gardener, and not all gardens will appeal to all folks-NOR SHOULD THEY! But there is beauty and appeal from all plants and living things in nature (except voles!) and I strive to look for it-always in my Zone 7A garden. for now...I'm in the garden...
