| Introduction | Greetings everyone! I am a Christian, a minister's wife, a public school teacher of almost 20 years, a writer, an avid blog reader and a new mom at 40, hence my Display Name, "Mom @ Last!" After years of struggling with infertility, my 5-year quest to learn more about adoption at long last has resulted in the adoption of our newborn baby girl! My extensive research of the topic has more importantly led me to accept the call to educate, enlighten and encourage other African-Americans to adopt African-American children of all ages. Though I pray that this blog is not exclusive to African-American readers, because there are so many incredible non African-Americans raising African-American children, I've learned in my research that the African-American adoptive mom's voice is MIA out here in the blogosphere. Hence, the creation of WeAdopt2. My short-sighted goal for this blog is to inspire a few people I know to build or add to their families via adoption. My long-sighted goal is to inspire decent, God-fearing people in general to open their hearts and homes forever to our children! |
