Introduction A native of Alabama's Black Belt region, I was a child when catfish first became a farm-raised product. My house was on the courthouse square, across the street from the county jail and Baptist church. We ran a small motel, and just a block away, my aunt ran a restaurant. Walk a mile, and we were at the catfish plant. Walk another mile, and we were in high cotton! Later, I wrote and edited for newspapers, and today I am a writer, homemaker, wife to "Mr. G," and married mother of three sons, all of whom eat catfish! Thanks for visiting, and thanks to The Catfish Institute for sponsoring Catfish Bytes.
