| Introduction | Hello everyone! My name is Yael. I am the Park Ecologist at Bethpage State Park, a 1,477 acre multiuse, green space in the heart of Long Island, New York. For those of you that belong to the world of golf, you may know Bethpage State Park as the site of the famous Black Course, which has held many tournaments in its day. What is not so well known, however, is the rich ecology at at our park... that is, the wildlife, the greenery, the ponds (to name a few) that provide ecosystem services to the local suburban area and its inhabitants. With that being said, we hope you are a frequent visitor of not just this park, but this blog... that way, you can learn all about the nature our park has to offer and just how dedicated our staff is to environmentalism.
