| Introduction | More than Scudi started as a way for me to write down events in our life with our son. In the beginning I used a paper journal--but discovered that too often by the end of the day, I had already forgotten what had made me laugh or struck a chord in me. I spend much of my day at a computer, so this blog became a way to seize the moment, and save it. I chose the title based on a performance Keith and I saw at the Piccolo Spoleto festival in Charleston, SC in the late 90's. Scudi are an old Italian currency. I fell in love with the sound of the word for some reason. And of course, life is about more than scudi. |
| Interests | Swimming, walking, hiking, biking, yoga, reading good books and talking about them with my bookclub, trying new food, gardening, traveling, cooking and hanging out with friends, framily, and family. |
| Favorite movies | Chocolat, Amelie, anything by the Coen brothers (but especially O Brother), Princess Bride, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Harry Potter. |
| Favorite music | Sarah McLachlan, Nanci Griffith, Lyle Lovett, Claire Holley, Tift Meritt, Shelby Lynne, Corinne Bailey Ray, Sade, John Gorka, and Black Eyed Peas for working out! And then there's Bach. |
| Favorite books | Anything by Barbara Kingsolver (especially prodigal summer), Annie Dillard, or Kent Haruf. Also love Toni Morrison, Haven Kimmel, Silas House, and Robert Morgan, Charles Frazier. And I'm becoming quite the connoisseur of children's books too! |
What's the most amount of sand you've ever had in your swimming trunks?
After some fun with a boogie board, enough to restore a 1/2 mile stretch of beach on NC outerbanks.
