| Introduction | I joined the Army National Guard while still in high school, and spent a year serving with my unit in Afghanistan attached to the 82nd Airborne. Activated again for Operation Katrina, I had the opportunity to help my beloved home state in the aftermath of that tragic storm.
Because of active duty deployments, it took a while longer than expected to finish college. I started at LSU, transferred to Widener, then received my bachelor's and master's degrees from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. I'm currently pursuing a second graduate degree, an M.Ed in Higher Education Administration, at Northeastern University. For four years, I have had the privilege of serving as a staff officer at Valley Forge Military Academy & College, and I continue to assist other troops and veterans through Military Service Corps. In March of 2012, I began a new position in student affairs at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
