| Introduction | I am a devoted father of Sophia and Diego and husband to my wife Jill. I enjoy spending time with family whenever possible. I love to spend time creating stories and exploring the imagination of my two kiddos. I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Philosophy from UC San Diego. After graduating, I spent three years as a Mechanical Engineer. My previous experiences traveling and hitchhiking through Central America and living at an orphanage in Tecate, Mexico led me to consider a field in education. I have never looked back. I have taught in various levels (middle school, high school and adult school) starting with Science and eventually focusing on Math education. I love Physics and have been a proponent of project based learning since the beginning of my teaching career. I am teaching 9th Grade Physics and Mathematics at High Tech High Chula Vista, a project based school. Some of my passions in this field are projects in renewable energy, and Engineering and Design. I hope to incorporate many of my experiences as an Engineer to teach engineering and design concepts within the classroom projects I will facilitate in the 9th grade. |

| Favorite music | Love all kinds. Depends on the ambience of the moment, but I always prefer upbeat, fun music, whether rock, hip hop, techno, jazz, oldies, 80's, blue grass, on and on... |
| Favorite books | Really like anything written by Walter Mosely, Dashiell Hammet's "Red Harvest", science fiction, hardboiled detective (Chandler, Hammet). Non-fiction: converting a car to an electric car, education theory and methods. |
