| Introduction | Pieter Walser is a qualified winemaker with a passion for people and wine. Born in South Africa’s Strand area outside Stellenbosch. Equipped with a three year diploma from Elsenburg Agricultural College, Pieter began his career at Eerste River Winery outside Stellenbosch. With pennies saved and itchy feet, Pieter soon took off to France to work at a boutique wine estate with winemaker Jean-Luc Meckert. After several months of travelling to absorb the culture and tradition of French wine production, Pieter jetted to the USA’s premium Napa Valley, where he worked with the gamut of wines at the famous Cakebread Cellars. Pieter soon learned that the peak of his game would require further study, so it was back to the books for a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch.
