Introduction We are Roman Catholic Benedictine Monks at St. Vincent Archabbey in Latrobe, Pennsylvania - which is about an hours drive southeast of Pittsburgh, PA. St. Vincent is America's first Benedictine Monastery founded by Archabbot Boniface Wimmer, OSB in 1846. Today we are the worlds largest Christian monastery with over 170 monks serving the Holy Roman Catholic Church in a variety of Apostolates. We are priests and brothers, we are also teachers, writers, psychologists, attorneys, musicians, electricians, artists, firemen, gardeners, and administrators, simply put: We are Benedictine Monks serving God in a variety of ways. The Benedictines of St. Vincent integrate a life of ongoing prayer with diverse diverse ministerial roles. Service at the Archabbey involves a great variety of work, ranging from teaching and administration at St. Vincent College and Seminary, to working at St. Vincent Parish or one of the other 30 parishes staffed by Benedictine monks. If your a young man (18-40) who feels God may be calling you to the monastic vocation, let's talk!
