| Introduction | I was born and raised in Alexandria, VA and went to the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA for undergrad. I loved it there for lots of reasons, the beautiful surroundings, the history, the people, my sorority, and meeting my future husband within two days of my arrival for freshman orientation! After graduation from W&M, I taught remedial reading for two years in Bunn, North Carolina through Teach For America. It was here that I discovered I really wanted to be a teacher. My students were amazing in so many ways and pushed me to challenge myself and explore new territory. It was hard to leave, but I am now in Cambridge in the Arts in Education program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. After my wedding on June 29th, 2007 (yay!), Brian and I hope to move to Maine where he will fly his P3s and I will return to the classroom to open the minds of my students to all the possibilities this beautiful, thrilling, often intimidating, world has to offer. I am also thinking about working in a children's museum in the future and maybe even attempting to write children's books...maybe! |
