| Introduction | I am a nearly thirtysomething social worker who uses knitting as her personal therapy. I live in Chicago with my girlfriend and three cats. We moved here from Iowa about a year ago, though this isn't our first time living in the city. I lived here for two years to attend graduate school before I moved back to Iowa (yeah, it's my home state) and my girlfriend had lived in Chicago for 15 years before she joined me in Iowa. We're back now and settling into our life in the city. It's an exciting time and we're anticipating buying a home and having kids in the next couple of years... For those of you didn't see my first blog post, this blog is named after the dollhouse that my grandfather built for me when I was little. It was yellow with white trim, and the address was 523 Mandy Lane. Though I don't play with it anymore (it's safely stored), I imagine that if I did it would be filled with miniature stash, my cats, and my girlfriend...In other words, the representation for the perfect knitting getaway! |
