Introduction I attended the Juilliard School where I studied viola with Paul Doktor. That was in the 1970's. I graduated with my bachelor's and master's degrees in music. I also attended the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, playing viola. In the following years, I worked as a music reviewer for various publications (Keynote, Opus, Musical America, Die Neue Zürcher Zeitung), and I began selling cartoons to other publications, my proudest sale being Punch. Syndication came my way for "9 Chickweed Lane" in 1993, and for "Pibgorn" in 2001. I also got The National Cartoonists Society 2005 award for Best Newspaper Comic Strip (Chickweed, that is). I spend a great deal of my time in monastic silence, illuminating my own texts. Be very very quiet.
