| Introduction | I am 34 years old, married to my high school sweetheart for 6 years (been together for 16). We have been trying to conceive since 2003, with no success. In 2005, we decided to seek assistance from a fertility specialist. Four IUI procedures and many thousands of dollars later, still no pregnancy. We did get pregnant on our own in 2007, the pregnancy ended with no explanation after 14 weeks. Our fertility specialist preached and preached about losing weight to make it easier to conceive.(I also have PCOS). I have attempted to lose weight with some success but I always seemed to gain it back, plus some. This is when I decided to look into weight loss surgery options. I went with the lap band since I still wanted to have a child. Thus, the adventure begins..... |
