| Introduction | We have served with Cadence International 29 years, sharing the gospel and our lives with the military community. In 1979, after Ray completed his B.A. in Christian Education at Biola University, we moved to northern Japan to direct the ministry at the Misawa Hospitality House. In 1987, while on home assignment, Ray completed his M.A. in Christian Education at Talbot Seminary and was ordained by the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. In 1989 we moved back to Japan to direct the Yokosuka Servicemen’s Center, ministering to the U.S. Seventh Fleet at Yokosuka Naval Facilities. In 1994, Ray was asked to be on the Leadership Team of Cadence International, directing the Public Ministries Department. While serving in that position, he developed and implemented the Cadence Banquet Ministry, raising tens of thousands of dollars for special projects within the mission. During this time Char was able to complete her degree. In November of 1999, we established, and are presently serving at, the Cadence House, a Cadence ministry in Kailua for those stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) Kaneohe Bay |
