Introduction	Janice Fuhrman has worked as a journalist around the world for 20 years covering everything from demitasse to the DMZ between North and South Korea. In 1999, she started writing about wine while living in the Napa Valley. She has written wine columns for the San Francisco Chronicle and the Contra Costa Times, is a frequent contributor to Decanter magazine and Wine Enthusiast magazine, and is the author of Wine Genius (MQ Publications, London), Wine Aficionado (Octopus Publishing Group, London) and Napa Valley: The Land, the Wine, the People (Ten Speed Press, Berkeley). A former documentary filmmaker and foreign correspondent in Tokyo, Japan, she is also a lawyer who does volunteer work in family and elder law. She lives outside San Francisco with her family.
