If you were a pirate, how would you avoid laughing when saying 'poop deck'?

Easy. I have lots of experience with the uttering of the word "poop". My dear husband thinks that it is hilarious and chants it daily. I suppose everything becomes unfunny in excess. When my ship comes in, I could definitely say "poop deck".
