| Introduction | I am a doctoral student studying at the Univesiteit Antwerpen in Flanders, Belgium. In my time as a research student, I have studied cetaceans at Cardiff University, and explored the biomechanical disparity of herbivorous dinosaurs at the University of Bristol. Here in Antwerp, I am conducting my PhD looking into the ecomorphology of perissodactyls, a group of predominantly large bodied mammals, also known as odd-toed ungulates. Members of this group include horses (such as zebra and wild ass), rhinoceroses, and their enigmatic forest cousins, the tapirs. I am a dinosaur and other animal nerd, and I am also guilty of overly enjoying fantasy and sci-fi, including Tolkien and Star Wars. I really enjoy playing and coaching sport, especially cricket, hockey and skiing (my knees are doomed!), and enjoy relaxing with artwork and epic classical music. I am also prone to mild eccentricity and, on occasion, a cheeky cider. |
