| Introduction | I am a 60 year old woman who has shown Parkinson's symptoms for about 10 years. This blog shares my interests and experiences in living with PD. I have been writing poetry for about four years and taking art classes which I love. In addition, I love to garden, like to cook and try hard to workout consistently. I am also a fanatical downhill skier! At one time, I volunteered as a dog cuddler at the Humane Society and I have an on-going interest in dance as I was, for several years, a competition level ballroom dancer. I also assisted for a couple of years with women's self defense classes for IMPACT Bay Area. I originally started this blog when I was preparing for the Nike Women's marathon (half marathon walk) and raising funds for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Sice then, I have done a sprint triathlon, the Mighty Mermaid in Capitola, also with TNT. In 2013 & 2015, I did, the Pacific Grove sprint triathlon (again with Team in Training). |
