About me

Introduction	Lisa M. Martin (née Kitten) is a patent analyst at Hovey Williams LLP, an intellectual property boutique law firm in Overland Park, KS, a Kansas City suburb. She recently earned a doctorate in biomedical engineering from the University of Oxford and is the founder of Brilliant!Biomed. Born and raised in Kansas, she earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Kansas State University before beginning her studies in Oxford, where she was funded by a Marshall Scholarship. Through Brilliant!Biomed she hopes to provide engaging, scientifically sound summaries of interesting research in fields relevant to health and medicine to an audience ranging from academics to healthcare professionals to the general public. Keeping in mind the close cooperation needed among all involved in healthcare, she also plans to occasionally cross over into health policy, politics, and more. Thanks for reading!
