Introduction	Katie is a Junior at Evangel Univ. studying Early Elementary Special Ed. In the summer of 2011, Katie spent 2 weeks in Cambodia ministering in jungle villages & to children rescued from the sex trade in the capital city. Katie has committed to an extended mission to northern Thailand near the Burma boarder to teach English for a semester and to minister to children rescued from the slave & sex trade and now living in a compound operated by Life Impact International. There are 55 young children, 15 babies, about 15 teen girls & 5 young women. They're given an education, taught to work in the orchard or fish farming as a trade, and shown the love of God and the worth they have in Jesus Christ. Katie will be taking online classes while in Thailand, and will return in time to teach at Happy Hands (a pre-school for deaf children) for the summer session. Katie attends God's Shining Light Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma where her Dad, Jim Rutherford, is an Associate Pastor. God's Shining Light Church will act as forwarding agent for Katie's mission trip. Katie is also involved with IIID at Victory Christian Center.
