| Introduction | I am a novelist, essayist and wanderer with roots in the San Francisco Bay Area. My travel destinations have been as distant as China and as close as Los Angeles where I grew up. Fair warning: I have a thing for the past. My historical novel, SHADOW ON THE CROWN, is set in 11th century, Anglo-Saxon England, and will be published in 2013 by Viking (U.S.), Harper/Collins (U.K.) and Sextante (Brazil). It is the first book of a trilogy, and my research for the next two books continues to take me to places connected with that first Millennium. The title of this blog, EARTHWALKER, is a translation of the Anglo-Saxon word eardstapa – literally, earth stepper or wanderer. As I use this blog to record my wanderings through the world, through time and through stories, I invite you to come along. |
