| Introduction | Caleb has full Trisomy 18 (Edward's Syndrome). He has a VSD and ASD of his heart. He has pulmonary hypertension we are currently trying to find out what is causing the ph. He has clenched hands with an extra thumb on his right hand. Caleb is able to open his hands fully and can even get a finger in his mouth. He has a horseshoe kidney. He also has reflux of the kidney. He has a complete brain but a lot of it is underdeveloped. Causing him to be delayed. He also has Dandy Walker Malformation. Because of these brain anomolies he suffers from seizures. They are quiet in nature but suffers from long postictal periods. With the antiseizure medication his seizures are extremely mild and infrequent. It appears that he was good hearing and good eyesight. We are still waiting to be tested but he is able to follow sounds and focus on objects. Caleb has a wonderful personality. He has exceeded all of our expectations...and the doctors :) |
