| Introduction | I began this blog at a time when I had just left Overeaters Anonymous (OA) having found out about an approach called Health at Every Size when a book of the same title written by Linda Bacon was recommended to me. As soon as I read it, it changed my whole perspective, and I believed, really believed, that I could fully recover from my eating disorders whilst completely trusting in my body. Most of this blog has documented this journey, which has been such a help to me and something of a celebration. I've been told it has helped others. Unfortunately I also deal with some very long term emotional/mental health issues and I find myself writing more about those here now than so much about the ED recovery because it's basically not something I have to think about much more. It still comes up in my posts but nowadays the 'Fat Legacy' is as much to do with a legacy of trying to pare down my self/emotions/essence and the consequences of doing so, and fighting to take up my psychic space in the world. |
