| Introduction | Hello! My name is Maralis, "La Poetic Seamstress", though some may know me as the Quiet Storm. I sew words together in a way to create something interesting and appealing. My experiences and the things that affect my life inspire me to write and share. My poetry is quite versatile yet unique, so expect the unexpected. I write from the perspective of a Latina, a New Yorker, a mother and a military wife. Why "shoebox"? It's a habit of mine to get up in the middle of the night with words and segments in my head and I just have to write them down. Often, what's closest to me (under my bed) is a shoebox, so I have many, many shoeboxes with scribblings inside of them...and I keep all of them! So take a peek in my shoebox and see what you find! |
