| Introduction | I am married to DW Barbara. I have been married 30 years this year, wahoo. I have four children. They are all just about grown. My oldest son (DS) has recently given us, with the help of his beautiful wife, a second grandbaby. This one is a girl. His first child is a boy who was one February 7. I have three daughters who are wonderful too. One lives in the NYC area and the other two are in colleges in Texas. I am proud of all my children and thank God for their health and their gifts and talents. |
| Interests | I have lots of interests. Reading and studying the Bible is high on the list, I also read other books fiction and non-fiction, I keep up with a lot of missionaries and ministries by newsletter, The magazines I get (that shows where my interests lie) are Chess Life, Biblical Archeology Review, Christian History, Christianity Today, and (I'm forgetting at least one), Newspapers I take are Wall Street Journal (for the articles, heh), the Weekly Jerusalem Post (for a glimpse of a somewhat foreign culture), and a small Texas weekly paper (also for a taste of a different culture), I like to watch sports, especially Rice baseball. I watch TV football and some soccer (partially to learn Spanish), I do watch some movies and TV, currently you'd think I was a pre-teen girl from my selection of shows. I blame it on my three daughters but they have moved on in their tastes so I have no real excuse. I'd say I don't like watching people getting killed, fake or real, so I prefer my conflict to be about relationships. I have competed in chess but now just play over old games for relaxation. I still have a lot of old Apple II computers to mess with old software titles. I still like it but find my time is taken up with other things. I want to be trained and used by God to help other people find Jesus as their savior. I want to point people to God and help them find the peace that passes all understanding. I am making small steps as God seems to be opening doors to work towards that happening. |
