Introduction	In Indic mythology, Adi Sesha is the king of nagas, snake-like demigods that can take on human form. He is traditionally depicted as a loyal guardian and friend of Vishnu, the preserver deity of the Hindu trinity. Vishnu reclines on the back of the many-headed Sesha, dreaming of the universe, floating in the ether. However, what is most fascinating about Sesha is that at the end of the current age, when the universe ends, Sesha will be the only thing that remains. It is said that Sesha is so massive that his body encompasses all of creation. Sesha, the snake with infinite heads, thus becomes the firmament of the universe, whatever void the hypothetical multiverse is expanding into. One of his epithets is Ananta, which means "unending" in Sanskrit. I am no physicist, but somehow the idea of likening the cosmos to a snake with infinite heads seemed an apt metaphor, one that resonated with me. This blog is about our universe. Its about the nature of our preconceptions, and how they measure up against reality. Whether or not I am particularly insightful is an open question but I at least hope to start a conversation that will bring us all a little closer to the truth.
