| Introduction | katrine beth behrend is a lover of movement, questions, and stories, and comes from a long lineage of travelers and survivors. bi-cultural, jewish, and queer, she's grown to love the fringe and embraces the personal as political. Her life-long search for self and belonging has propelled many adventures including bicycles, Patagonian farms and family, snowshoe dances, scissors and glue, Puerto Rican rain storms, and train travel in Denmark. She earned her B.A. from the University of Washington in Dance and Community Planning in 2007 and since has entered the world of experiential education through teaching art, zine, and bookmaking classes and leading backpacking, rockclimbing, and kayaking trips for middle and highschool female youth. As a community activitist, she strives in the movement toward a more peaceful and just world to listen closely to the voices of others and find understanding on the bridge between differences. it is with a posture of curiosity, compassion, and critical social analysis that she approaches projects, and with passion, care, and charisma that she enters the creative process. |
