Introduction	I was born in the heartland of the great Midwest, in Rockford, Illinois in 1948. At the time it was known as the Forest City because of its canopied boulevards of Dutch elm trees leading to lush parks and green spaces. Being part of the early baby boomers after World War II, I was fortunate enough to be raised in an era of unrivaled economic expansion by parents who were second generation citizens and middle class workers. My mother’s side of the family were farmers and artisans with grandmother being cook, baker and pianist, and grandfather a wood carver and farmer. My father's side were emigrants fleeing the genocide that occurred after the war in Belarus. My passions have always been focused on the arts, and while pursuing a degree in both art and mathematics, I eventually gave over to the arts. Studying at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts I realized that Interior Design would be the best way to accomplish what I desired most. The ability to direct artisans and trades as a symphonic unit was exciting, with the end result bringing a successful living environment and a happy and grateful client as well.
