Introduction	We are a community Maarifa (knowledge) centre established in Ndhiwa District as a collaboration of Arid Lands Information Network and the Institute for Rural Development-Kenya in the year 2007. The community here practice mixed farming as an act of adaptation towards climate change and distance from the lake. As much as the people here are adapting the use of new production technologies, there is still a great need for knowledge and skills of doing this, and that is how we come in.
