| Introduction | I was married for 32 years.I was a compromiser and chose to give up my own desires for the sake of keeping the marital relationship and family together because I chose to love proactively. In retrospect this may not have been the best choice, but it surely seemed so at the time. I have a fierce sense of loyalty, that also fueled my determination make the relationship work. I am in the most difficult process of building a life alone, since the life I once knew has almost completely evaporated. I managed, before the abandonment, to obtain an Registered Nurse's license, so I am not destitute, for this I am grateful. So, I work. But I also play. My play consists of concerts, where I dance..and dance...and dance more. This is both cathartic and nurturing. I must have music in my life. I take joy in traveling and have been to France, England, Austria, New Jersey, New York and Georgia. I will join with someone again, but I am in no hurry. I will not join again for challenge and excitement, but for harmony, peace, and passion. I look forward to the remainder of my life. It is such a paradigm shift to make decisions solely on my own desires, but I am beginning to get use to it. |
