| Introduction | I am what Eric Sloane called an American of the old school. I have a special place in my heart for small farmers, small merchants, small towns, and small churches. I am uncomfortable with large business, large government and large cities. I farm on the same land my family has lived upon for five generations, in a community where my ancestors have lived for over 210 years. I write about a variety of things: life on the farm here, the heritage of rural Pennsylvania, a layman's perspective on the Gospel in everyday life, and various thoughts formed while keeping flocks or cutting wood. |
