Location	Sitka, Alaska
Introduction	I am a summer intern for the Sitka Economic Development Association in partnership with Sitka Conservation Society. My project is to help identify possible financing mechanisms to further promote economic development in Sitka. This includes talking to local stakeholders, researching what other communities have done, interviewing specialists in the field, wading through the stacks of papers, books and websites of different economic development strategies with the goal of making some strong recommendations for the community members of Sitka. I am from the Seattle area and have a masters in public policy and sustainable development from University of Oregon (yes, I know I am a duck). I last worked as policy analyst for the Washington State Low Income Housing Alliance. I have spent the majority of my 20's either in school or traveling the world working on community development projects. I have spent time in Europe, South East Asia, Uganda, Guatemala, Mexico and Greece and recently Whitefish, Montana and now I am excited to call Sitka my summer home. I look forward to meeting and talking with you all.
