| Introduction | In 2004, I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, IIIc. I had pretty extensive tumor debulking surgery; complete hysterectomy, removing 9" of my colon, my appendix, my omentum, several lymph nodes & scraping tumors off on my liver, stomach, diaphragm, & bladder. My 1st encounter with chemo in 04 resulted in a life-threatening allergic reaction, although on the upside, I was secretely relieved! No chemo, onward with alternative stuff! In 2005, I had my colostomy reversed-put my plumbing back together. In 2006, I did a 6 1/2 month course of chemo-Gemzar & Carboplatin for some liver lesions. I thought I was out of alternative options, so went for it so I could be here some more. Of course I was wrong about the options, but I've learned. Throughout this journey I have focused on the multi-dimensional aspects of healing. Nutritionally, I have moved from macrobiotic to Raw/Living Foods diet with lots of greens & regular detox & wheatgrass chasers! The past 6 months, my tumor markers have consistently dropped & I am doing great, approaching my 4 yr anniversary in July! |
