| Introduction | Photographs are the most precious thing we will ever have, next to the real person of course. We hold them close to our hearts as the years slip quietly past. My children range in age from 30 years old down to 6. I'd like to say that I have their faces etched in my mind at every stage of their life, but I don't. Memories are just not that good. But when I bring out the photographs, look at them in albums, view their portraits on the wall, I can remember clear as day what those baby curls looked like. I can feel that tiny hand slip into mine so easily, only to be denied that pleasure as they grew older. I can almost smell their sweet breath. Yes, nothing, absolutely nothing, is as important as memories. And a photograph is as close as it gets after they've moved out. Karen Fine Art Photographer |
