Introduction	I first came to Beijing as a teacher on a Ford Foundation-sponsored project in 1985, working with an elite Chinese academy of scholars and graduate students. My background was already in Chinese language and Applied Linguistics, particularly TESL. It pains me to see Westerners disconcerted and dismayed in their Beijing experience. Through this blog I've tried to share the less trodden path of places and activities to enrich one's China experience. Much has changed in Beijing; I hope to share the "new" China with you all.
