| Introduction | I melt ice with my bare hands. I’ve brought 5-minute rice in at just under 4:41. More than once. Using only a measuring cup and some eco-friendly laundry detergent, I completely dismantled North Korea’s nuclear weapons arsenal. I’d be allergic to tropical fish, but I’m just not trying hard enough. I read “Dr. Zhivago” and wrote a grocery shopping list in the same evening. The CIA keeps leaving messages on my machine for someone named “Popochev”. Cliff diving in Acapulco is something I keep trying at but I’m just not getting any better. My plans for a suspension bridge over Louisiana were rejected mostly for political reasons, yet I was able to form a stable city government in Machu Picchu later in the week. I invented islands but, as a humanitarian gesture, didn’t keep any of them. I was raised by wild dingoes until I was old enough to realize that I wasn’t really Australian and wasn’t like the other kids. |
