| Introduction | My name is Ariane. I recently graduated from a Master's program in Public & International Affairs from the university of Ottawa, Canada. I have a Bachelor's degree in International Development & Globalization. I have been interested in Haiti for about 3 years now, reading history books, writing school papers on different subjects regarding Haiti. After I spent 3 weeks in August 2011 visiting the country, I decided I was ready to volunteer here for a longer period. That's when I came across Kids Connection Haiti. This blog is part of my position as a volunteer for Kids Connection Haiti (KCH) this summer 2012. I thought this would be a great way to put on "virtual" paper, my summer experience and the work KCH is doing in Haiti. This is my second trip to the "Pearl of the Caribbean", but my first experience working in a developing country (I don't necessarily like using this term, but no term is entirely politically correct). I guess all that's left to say is...Let the adventure begin! |
