| Introduction | This purpose of this blog is to emphasize the cultural "renaissance" taking place in California underneath the surface of rapid decay and decline. Secondarily, we hope to feature information, commentary, and perhaps even scholarship pertaining to California's unique heritage. This is a not a political blog, but it is a blog with an undisguised point of view. Essential to our vision of California is a healthy respect and appreciation for the two Christian civilizations that fused to create our own - that of Spain and the United States - despite their many conflicts and flaws. This fusion of cultures is perhaps best personified by the man represented in this blog's profile image, General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo.
