| Introduction | We now know it was more than just a coincidence that our sons sat across from each other on their first day of kindergarten. Before long, they were almost inseparable. Through weekly play dates and all the joys that come with 5 year old boys, we soon became friends. Neither of us knew at the time, how much we would come to rely on each other. Andrea a full-time mother of 6 and me (Nissa), a business owner and mother of 4, had our plates full juggling life, family, and church responsibilities. “Me Time” was a rare thing, and usually only happened if we were coerced into it by our husbands. My bucket list has been getting shorter and shorter. I realized that running a marathon had just made the top of the list. I casually mentioned a marathon to Andrea thinking if I was her, there would be no way I would have the sanity left to take on a feat of that magnitude! To my shock and amazement, after talking it over with her husband, she said yes! That is where this adventure began…… |
